The Gushing Tap
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard – Troutdale 2024 Retrospective Bootleg Poster
A retrospective POSTER CElEBRATING KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD’S show at edgefield manor in troutdale, oregon on sEPtember 11, 2024..
This is probably the most memorable music experience i’ve ever had in my life. i pulled my two pre-teen daughters out of school and drove to see Gizz in omaha, nebraska. Then we drove back to kansas city, jumped on an airplane, and flew them across the country for this show outside portland. It was a beautiful day leading up to the show. We listened to sound check from outside the gate and couldn’t wait to see them again. and as the show neared it started raining, and not Just normal Oregon rain. it absolutely poured. the boys came out and tried played a frantic version of dripping tap. it was like the faster and harder they played, the harder the rain came down. it was legit the hardest rain i’ve ever stood in. They had to leave stage because the conditions were impossible to play in and were likelY unsafe with all the elEctrical gear being water-boarded. WE stood there for a half hour getting just annihilated by the water, it was absolutely insane. our wet was wet. there was standing water flooding at our feet a foot deep, and our feet just sank through the grass turF into the mud below. It really was crazy! My daughters were completely miserable but there was no re-entry so we could leave to take cover. We just had to ride it out. i felt like father of the year. i just kept thinking, “holy shit. i pulled my girls out of school, flew across the country, and this shit’s gonna be cancelled. the rain didn’t stop, but gizz ultimately returned and it was one of the most fun, epic shows i’ve ever scene. it was completely surreal. because everyone bailed during the delay, we were able to move up to the rail and after the show one of my daughters caught the set list. it was wadded up in a ball, wet as hell, we let it dry for like four days then were able to open it to see it was salvageable, however was from the red rocks sho and not the edgefield show we just watched. i know that in fifty years my girls will look back on that night with mad love. i hope one day they appreciate the experience as much as i do and always will. yolo. i made this image of han tyumi wearing a FMB raincoat to capture that intense feeling of the show. if you were there, you know. ENJOY LOOKING !!!

Where’s Weirdo?
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard Field of Vision 2025 Retrospective Bootleg Poster
Field of Vision Festival held in August 2025 at Meadow Creek in Buena Vista, CO. was completely off the chain. it restored my faith in humanity.
Since F.O.V., I’ve been working on this bootleg poster design that is a play off MC Escher’s Waterfalls composition. It’s my attempt to capture the feeling and experience we had at Field of Vision, 2025. This has all been drawn in Photoshop mostly, with some Illustrator vector stuff mixed in. It’s all color separated as would be done for screen printing, with black, gray, cyan, lime green, pink, orange, golden yellow, white, using halftone to create the appearance of other colors and shading other.
If you attended you’ll recognize that every musician who played is portrayed somewhere (mostly in the window reflections so hard to see in this low res copy), there are heavy nods to K.G.’s art & iconography, many key characters from the fest are included, and elements or symbolism related to each of their studio albums is included. The creek, Mirage City, the arched overhead entry sign, the record fair, Phantom Island, the tv installation, the iridescent windows, the trees, Timeland stage, the hot air balloon, Drag Camp, the marching band parade, beach balls, the Superbug kid, the What Gizz means to me poster, the campground, mountains, the rainbow, Matt G’s eyes, the theatre with Space Odyssey playing, triple stacked hammocks, a wedding, both of my camping neighbor groups, the film crew, Michelle, Sammy, T, Mystery Jack, Amber and Cody of Weirdo Swarm, Echo, Jason Galea, Bob the Polaroid guy, Roberto Borrero, and even Eric make an appearance lol. It has been a fun project, but will be glad to be done with it after a few final touch ups.
